These are my family surnames. They are not listed in any particular order, but these are the ones that I am working on currently.
Gwin, Johnson, Quick, Burchfield, Stringfellow, Glover, Grant, Sandlin, Hudson, Gilmore, Howton, Chitwood, Lawrence, Littleton, Gilbert, Franklin, Clark, Briggs, Moses, McClain, Bilbro.
If you share any of these names I would love to hear from you! Mine would be focused in the Southern states and along the Eastern coast. Just fill out the contact me form and let me know. Maybe we can help each other!
Right now my focus is on the Gwin line. It can be spelled so many ways and as many genealogists find out, this becomes a huge problem. For example: Gwin, Gwinn, Gwyn, Gwynn, Gwyne, Gwynne. This could also be spelled Guin and Guinn. This is a fairly common problem with surnames that could be misinterpreted. Depending on who was spelling it that day, it could end up with any number of vowels.
Bottom line—always check for multiple spellings of your surname!!!
